Standing at stud for 2020 Abbeywoods Under Pressure. Aka Dave is an exceptional PBA 138cm 4-year-old coloured stallion by Murraybrook Moriarty v Abbeywoods Aphrodite, with famous lines including Weltmeyer and Weltruhm.

Some exciting background to his breeding is Weltruhm, who is by the famous dressage stallion Weltmeyer and his damsire is the famous showjumping sire Argentan I whose offspring includes Aramis (who competed at Olympic/World Championships level) and his most famous son, the prolific jumping sire Argentinus, whose offspring include Arko III (ridden by Nick Skelton at the Olympics and European Championships), All Star 5, Thunder van de Zuuthoeve, and Adlantus.

Performance Record

Since a foal, Dave has competed and won various classes and qualifiers with many evening performances. He is safe and easy to handle by children and adults and so easy to do with good manners even while stabled next to mares.

As a foal, Dave was Champion in the CHAPS Foal Futurity and Reserve Champion in the Breeders Challenge classes.  Dave was presented for SPSS youngstock evaluation as a yearling and 2-year-old, gaining Premiums both times and was awarded an SPSS Gold Premium in 2019.

He received a Gold Premium at the 2019 British Breeding Futurity Evaluations as an eventing sports pony. The Futurity evaluators noted that his jumping was both bold and brave and awarded him a 9.

Dave was licensed by the SPSS in 2019 with the SPSS judges giving 8s for his walk, which they described as “active” and trot, which they described as having “good rhythm and expression”.  Overall they said that he was “a pleasing pony colt”.

He is currently being backed and has been invited back to the British Breeding Equine Bridge Programme under saddle in 2020 due to being a high scorer as a 3-year-old.

Abbeywoods Under Pressure is a quality sports pony prospect who excels in his jumping which was noted by the 2019 Futurity evaluators to be bold, brave and have an exciting future ahead in the jumping field by receiving a 9. His trot also gained a high score which showed good rhythm, balance and extension.

He is graded with the Sports Pony Society and licensed with the Arab Society with 43.23% part-bred Arab. He has a wonderful temperament to pass on to his offspring which runs down through his lines.
