Scrapman has made smooth and sharp work of his time at Drumhowan Stud. Initially agreed to stand for one season only, Scrapman now embarks on his 6th season, on this multibase stud.
A lifetime in the RID stallion business by the stud owners, has helped garner the support from loyal and new breeders, that has propelled Scrapman into becoming one of Ireland’s top RID stallions.
At only 12 years old, the results of Scrapman’s progeny leave nothing to be desired – very few RID stallions can claim to have bred so much success so quickly – year after year! ….if any?
The RDS Champion sire Scrapman, whose father Crosstown Dancer, along with Kildalton Gold, King of Diamonds, Pride of Shaunlara, Merry Gold and Ben Purple were all RDS Champion Stallions. Their superior stallion pedigree continues as an ongoing asset to breeders, both pure-bred and sport horse breeders alike.
The dam Radiance was a prolific show mare, winning numerous champions for her owner Carol Dempsey. A Gold Merit mare, Radiance was also a NDP Premier RID mare. For Scrapman breeders can be confidentg that the champions will keep coming. So too will versatile sports horses, Traditional Irish horse, jumpers, eventers and the very best of hunters, show horses and even carriage horses from his crosses with several Gelderlander mares from the UK!
Regularly shown by his breeder Carol Dempsey, Scrapman claimed many wins and top placings as a youngster. At only 5 years old and a short time competing, he accumulated 93 SJI points and an unrivalled 8 double clear showjumping rounds at 1.20.
